We are back after the summer break and so excited to bring you the third event in our Home-Grown Investor Series, hosted by Frankie Smith. This time around we are extremely proud to be an official partner of CogX Festival, running our fringe event around Deep Tech Sector and Transformative Technology. We will be discussing the opportunities and challenges the sector has faced in recent months, and how these companies have had to pivot their positioning in the current economic environment.

This discussion will delve into:

Speakers:

Mikhil Raja, CEO and Co-Founder of Sonicjobs, fastest-growing iOS & Android job app in the UK and recently launched and scaling in the US. SonicJobs has built award-winning patented technology to enable candidates to apply for any job on any site.

Zoë Reich, former founder and deep tech specialist who heads up the Octopus Ventures institutional Deep Tech strategy. Zoe has vast experience in this sector having previously managed seven early-stage funds focused on deep tech from UK universities, investing from proof of concept through to series B. Zoe is also an entrepreneur, having built and sold a cryptocurrency exchange to a Hong Kong-based financial services institution.

Cian Hughes, Partner & Head of Platform for Sure Valley Ventures. Cian s is a Cambridge, UK based venture capitalist and technology entrepreneur with over 20 years operational experience in the areas of venture capital, accelerators, executive networks, software solutions, mobile platforms, and supply chain operations.

Dr Chris Moore, Technology Specialist, Science & Technology (S&T) Directorate is a Technology Sector Specialist at the UK’s Department for Business & Trade (DBT). Chris has over 25 years of experience in industry, working in research, technology development management, manufacturing and marketing in the USA and Europe. He has experience covering knowledge transfer, innovation, Intellectual Property assessment, engagement with early-stage companies, the VC community and developing routes to market.

Simon Ramery, Founder of Fourth Ventures and experienced investment banker, advisor, entrepreneur, and investor. Prior to establishing Fourth Ventures Simon was the Head of Capital Advisory at Cavendish Corporate Finance, where he closed a number of ground breaking deals in education and technology, finding investment for businesses from Private equity, Venture capital, Ultra-High Net worth individuals, Family Offices, and Corporates.
