Philip Salter founded The Entrepreneurs Network in 2014 with the aim of building an organisation with the aim of helping make Britain the best place in the world to start and grow a business.
Philip was previously Business Features Editor of City A.M. where he wrote a weekly column on entrepreneurship and interviewed many of Britain’s leading entrepreneurs.

Bridie Cunningham, Director at Portman Scott
Bridie began her career on a graduate training scheme with retailing giant Marks and Spencer. During a 15 year career in the company she had a number of senior sales and operational roles, both in the UK and overseas. She then moved to Carphone Warehouse where she was Head of UK Retail Productivity and was a member of the team that helped the business enter the FTSE 100. After running her own fashion business, Bridie became fascinated by the role that timely and efficient recruitment could play in a small, growing company’s success and founded Portman Scott with Bernard in 2012.
Ed Prior, Head of Investor Services at SFC Capital
Ed joined SFC from the political world where he worked as an election strategist, speechwriter, and in policy development focused on venture capital and innovation. In business, Ed has advised founders and companies at different lifecycle stages on growth strategy, organisational development and equity-based crowdfunding campaigns. Ed is Head of Investor Services at SFC, responsible for Investor Relations, Fundraising and the Angel House.
Jo Mackie, Partner at Burlington Legal
Jo is an employment partner who has worked in employment law for over 20 years.
She predominantly deals with employer side matters, but also manages complex employee claims. Her specialisms include claims brought under the Equality Act 2010 and under TUPE.
Jo advises businesses on their liabilities in M&A transactions and carries out forensic examination of data room submissions for compliance and regulatory risk.
She has a strong presence with media clients and those in the entertainment industry and is the resident employment law expert for the Times, Sunday Times and Raconteur and appears on Sky and Talk TV on the Vanessa Feltz TV show and on BBC radio with Kate Justice.
