R&D Tax Credits for Dummies; not just Techies & Scientists

Thursday 8th July 2021, 5.15pm

You don’t need to be a scientist or a rocket engineer to be doing R&D. Even the pen is still being improved, iterative advance by iterative advance.

“We have just made a technological advance” is not a sentence ever uttered on a building site, however, ‘technological advances’ are happening on a daily basis and in all sectors. From fashion to construction, this work is worth thousands of thousands in tax savings and is largely going unclaimed.

When most people hear ‘technological advance’ they instantly assume that the language is talking about someone in a lab coat or some tech wizard coding away in a dark room, and that it couldn’t possibly apply to themselves.

This workshop, led by David Fribbins, Director at Randee Advisors Ltd, will be an exploratory session where, after a few cross-sector case studies, they will describe what technological advance might look like in yours or other businesses and a little on how the finances interplay within a claim.

By the end of the session, you will have a better understanding of how to interpret HMRC’s jargon into your own language.

Judge the efficacy of a day by what you sowed, not what you reap…
