Mews Two

Our 35 comfortable bedrooms span the top few floors of Home Grown. The long corridors show off the lateral conversion that took place to restore the Georgian townhouse, with each room reflecting the history of the building. In this article, we explore Mews Two, our most exclusive Home Grown room.

You may have never noticed our Mews Two bedroom, tucked away on the first floor of Home Grown. Accessible via our internal staircase, Mews Two is one of our most private rooms, quiet, peaceful and cosy.

The room itself was designed to pay homage to the history of the building, previously a first-class ladies club for veteran nurses of the Voluntary Aid Detachment during the First World War. Cosy, but with bold, grand features, the room is reminiscent of Georgian architecture and design touches.

Mews Two has its own small lobby as you enter, giving it a sense of arrival. Our design partners, Russell Sage Studio, removed a chimney breast and fireplace from the original room, so created a bed head inspired by an old-fashioned fireplace to complete the historical feel of the room. The antique desk and dressing mirror further add to this.

The large bay window in the room brings in lots of daylight, and directly the faces the vintage-style bed head and wallpaper. The effect is a bright room with classic features – ideal for a weeknight stay or long London holiday.
